Mark For Removal

This series marks the definitive closing of a traumatic chapter in my life, functioning as a visual map of the unresolved anger, fear, and pain once held deeply within my stomach and heart.

For a long time, this rage was a language I could visualize but could not speak; through the visceral process of creating these images, I was finally able to articulate, confront, and externalize that deep-seated emotion.

In this work, that destructive energy is intentionally incinerated, transformed, and watched as it burns down to ash.

Using carbon as both a physical material and a conceptual symbol, the work replicates the ecological cycle of destruction and renewal. The ash does not represent an end, but rather a return to the soil, serving as the rich, fertile ground necessary to feed new growth.

By confronting these dark spaces, I have grown comfortable with every part of my history, allowing my creative and intuitive voice to completely overshadow the past.

The door to that old life is now firmly shut, and from the remains, a clear, peaceful articulation has emerged.
